What time is check in?

Check in is available from 3pm. We will ask for an estimated time of arrival when you book, if you are delayed and likely to arrive outside these times please let us know. If you want to park your car in our car park and go for a walk earlier in the day that is usually fine, if we have space, but please identify yourselves and your car with us before heading out. A £10 deposit will be charged for key fob and padlock and will be redeemed upon return of both at check out.

What time is check out?

Check out is 11 am on the morning of departure and all bedrooms must be cleared of both guests and any possessions by that time.

How do I get to you?

When visiting Lodge Dinorwig, we recommend that you follow the road through Deiniolen as it is a well lit, two-lane road and the most direct/quickest route to us. Another route, which your satnav may recommend comes up through Fachwen from a village called Bryn Refail. Please be aware that this is a single-track road with few passing places and it is poorly lit with numerous bends – we do not recommend this route.

Can I reach you by public transport?

Yes, a bus stop is right opposite the entrance. The nearest train station is in Bangor and from there you can catch bus Deiniolen. There you can either catch the next bus to Dinorwig or walk up to us.

How much do you charge?

The guide price is £25 per person per night including breakfast. If you would like to book the whole bunk room (14 beds) the charge is £300 per night. Please check the availability/booking page for accurate prices.

How many people can stay at your place?

Our bunk room can sleep 14 people.

Do you have single sex rooms?

We just have one bedroom available, therefore it is a mixed sex room, unless you book the whole room, we wont be able to promise single sex occupancy.

Are there self-catering facilities?

No, all accommodation at Lodge Dinorwig is offered catered. We ask you not to bring any food onto the premises.

Is breakfast included?

Yes, breakfast is included in your stay and will be served between 8am and 11am.

Are packed lunches offered?

Yes, packed lunches are available and have to be booked by 7.30pm the day before you would like your lunch. Please ask our staff for an order form.

Is dinner available?

A home cooked, two course meal is served at 7.30pm and must be booked in advance for £12.50.

What time is food served?

Breakfast is served between 8am and 11am and is included in your nights stay.

Can you cater for my dietary requirements?

Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any special dietary requirements and we will try our best to cater for your needs.

Can we buy alcohol at Lodge Dinorwig?

Lodge Dinorwig does not currently hold an alcohol license. If you wish to enjoy a glass of wine or beer with your evening meal, please bring it with you. We ask you to drink responsibly and respectfully.

Do you provide lockers to store valuables?

Yes we have lockers and with your £10 key deposit you will be given a padlock to use for the lockers.

Can I book the bedroom for exclusive use?

As this is a hostel our budget accommodation depends on the fullest occupancy, therefore if we cannot take a booking that gives full room occupancy we will let the spare beds in the room. You may wish to pay for the unoccupied bed to ensure your family or group privacy.

Do I have to bring any linen or towels?

All bed linen is provided and beds are made up for you prior to your arrival. Please bring your own towel.

Have you got a bedroom with en-suite facilities?

No, our bedroom is not en-suite but the shared bathroom is just along the corridor.

Can I make use of your laundry?

We do not have a public laundry facility at the premises. If you would like to wash your clothes, the nearest laundrette is in Llanberis.

Where is the nearest shop?

Deiniolen and Llanberis have small convenience stores but if you are looking for bigger shopping facilities, Bangor and Caernarfon will be your closest places.

What are your cancellation policies?

  • For a full refund, 14 days notice of cancellation is required
  • If a cancellation occurs 14-10 days before your stay, 50% will be refunded
  • If a cancellation occurs 10-5 days before your stay, 30% will be refunded
  • A cancellation less than 5 days before your stay will be charged in full.

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved dogs are very welcome in all communal areas but we ask you not to take them into the bed room out of respect to other guests and to keep all linen in the bed room free from pet hair. If the behaviour of the dog interrupts other guests, we might have to ask you to leave the dog outside. Because dogs are not allowed with you in the bed room, please be aware that your dog will have to stay in your car over night.

Have you got WiFi?

We do have free WiFi at Lodge Dinorwig, however, we can’t guarantee the signal in all areas of the premises. Please be also aware, that we are located in a fairly rural area and fibre optics is not available in Dinorwig yet. Internet is intended for straight-forward web browsing and checking of e-mails, it is NOT for streaming or downloads.

Is there a car park?

Yes, we have a large car park to the back of the building with 14 spaces.

Have you got a secure storage for my bike?

We can provide bike storage but ask every biker to lock their bikes individually as well with a private lock for double security.

Are your premises wheelchair accessible?

The building was built around 1869 and the narrowest door is about 80cm. We do have a ramp going up to the front door and also an accessible toilet. If you would like to stay the night, please contact us directly to discuss your access needs.

Is there a curfew at Lodge Dinorwig?

You will be issued with a key fob to enter the building when you check in so you can come and go as you wish. However, we have a quiet site policy between 11pm and 7am; please keep noise to a minimum at all other times. Please respect our neighbours and other guests sleeping pattern.

Can I walk up Snowdon from Dinorwig?

Some paths start in Llanberis, which is about a 45min walk away. Other paths start from Llanberis pass, which is a 20min drive away. The start of the Watkins path is about a 40min drive. We recommend you check the weather and conditions before your visit to make sure you will be adequately equipped for your adventure.
